10 Best Beaches in Patmos

PSILI AMMOS BEACH 

Psili Ammos beach is the most famous beach in the island. Its a sandy beach with some stones, trees and a tavernoula. Its located in a remote area of the island. You can get there in summer with a boat from Skala port or you can get to Diafkoti with your own car or scooter and follow the path for 30 minutes or so. Must visit.

AGIOS THEOLOGOS BEACH or SKALA BEACH 

Agios Theologos Beach also known as Skala Beach is located in the bay of Skala not too far from the port on the way to Netia area. Its a pebbled beach with two tavernoulas having tables there and a line of trees for shdows over the table. At the end of the beach is where St. John the Theologian has baptised the people of Patmos when he came to the island in 95 A.D.

MELOI BEACH

Meloi Beach is easy to find its just after the Skala bay port. A peddle beach only 20 minutes by walk from Skala. You can get there with your own vehicle.

AGRIOLIVADI BEACH

The beautiful bay beach of Agriolivadi has everything you need for a perfect day at the beach. Pebbled beach, sunbeds, taverna and more. The waters are shallow it can be a good destination for a family day at the beach. You need your own vehicle to get there. Located between Skala and Kampos village Must visit.

GRIKOS BEACH

Grikos Beach Bay is located in the village of Grikos. In summer there is a bus connecting Skala and Chora via Grikos. The beach is pebbled. There are sunbeds, a taverna and small shops. Grikos is a beautiful bay.

LEFKES BEACH

Lefkes Beach is located is located on the north side of the island. Its a stone and rocks beach. Lefkes is located between Skala and Kampos. You must make a detour and follow a dirty road all the way to the beach.

TWIN BEACHES

Twin beaches are located on the way of Panagia Geranou church and beach after Kampos. Both beaches are in pebbled and wild. You must have your own vehicle to get there.

KAMPOS BEACH

Kampos Beach is located after the main crossroad in the village of Kampos. You can walk there from Kampos in 10 minutes if you took the bus from Skala to Kampos or get there directly with your own vehicle. Its a nice peddle beach with tavernas and shops near by. Must visit.

VAGIA BEACH

Vagia beach is located after Kampos beach on the way to Panagia Geranou. Its a beautiful pebbled beach with rocks. To get there you must take the road after Kampos beach on the way to Panagia Geranou when you get on top of the hill if you keep going straight you will go down to to Vagia beach, if you turn left you will go to Panagia Geranou beach and Twin beaches. You need your own vehicle to get there.

LIVADI KALOGIRON BEACH

Livadi Kalogiron beach is a wild pebbled and sand mixt beach not organized. There is a small taverna near the parking area. There is an old monastery that belongs to the Monastery of Evangelismos with one of the most beautiful iconostasis in the island of Patmos. An old beautiful and smiling lady will open the door of the church for you.

 

LIVADI GERANOU BEACH

Livadi beach is pebbled beach and its not organized. Some trees help to get shadows. Livadi beach is located on the way to Panagia Geranou after Kampos Village. You need your own vehicle to get there. Must visit

LAMPI BEACH

Lampi beach is a rounded stone beach in the north of the island after Kampos village. Its not an organized beach. There is a taverna. You need your own vehicle to get there.

SAPSILA BEACH

Sapsila bay beach is pebbled and sandy not organized beach.  You need a vehicle to get there or is a good nice walk from Skala. 3 km probabily.

DIAFKOTI BEACH

Diafkoti beach is not organized and wild with stones and pebbled. There is a nice a taverna to enjoy beautiful sunset from there. You need your own vehicle to get there.

ALIKES BEACH

Alikes beach is in the same big bay of Diafkoti beach. Its a not organized and wild beach with pebbled and stones. This area is where patmian use to take their salt from the sea. There is a small lake near by.

MIKRO PSILI AMMOS BEACH 

Mikro Psili Ammos beach is located on the path from Diafkoti to Psili Ammos beach. You will see it from the path and you can get there from another even smaller path. Its not organized. its totally wild.

PETRA BEACH 

Petra beach is very popular. There is a organized part which is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, a bar. Another part is not organized. You can get there with your own vehicle or you take the bus from Skala or Chora to Grikos and then you walk from 10 minutes. There are tavernas near by. Must visit.

PANAGIA GERANOU BEACH

Panagia Geranou beach is located under the church Panagia Geranou where a miraculous icon is on display and pilgrims come to pray here especially on 15th August for the celebration of the Dormition of the Mother of God. From the church there is a beautiful view over Patmos. Sometimes in summer the church is open. Must visit for the view.

HOHLAKAS BEACH

Hohlakas beach is the other beach of Skala. Its not a good place to go to swim or to relax. Its full of big rocks and can be dangerous. However is a good spot to enjoy sunset in Patmos with a view over Ikaria island.

ASPRI BEACH

Aspri beach is located after Koumana Monastery which deserves a visit. Before getting to Miloi beach you must turn to follow the road all the way to Aspri beach. Aspri beach is a calm beach with peddle and mant trees.
